BIO KOREA 2026 will be held from April 28th to 30th at COEX in Seoul. Co-hosted by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) and Chungcheongbuk-do Province, the event will feature approximately 270 companies from over 20 countries. The theme is “Breakthrough, Beyond the Future,” and it is structured around three main pillars: exhibitions, business partnering, and conferences. Domestic participants include Yuhan Corporation, ST Pharm, Prestige Biologics, and GC Cell, while international participants include Johnson & Johnson, Amgen, Lonza, MSD, Novartis, Eli Lilly, and SK bioscience. A notable feature this year is the significant increase in the proportion of areas such as AI drug development, digital health, and synthetic biology platforms. This event stands out from a mere “exhibition” because K-Bio is simultaneously achieving results in three areas this year: clinical trials, technology exports, and production. Samsung Biologics' record-high first-quarter performance, Samsung Bioepis' first global ADC clinical trial, LegoChem Biosciences' CLDN18.2 ADC IND, Alteogen's additional ALT-B4 contract, and Celltrion's benefits from US policies are all intertwined with this week's developments. The one-on-one meetings between major pharmaceutical companies and Korean firms at the event will directly shape the K-Bio scenario for the next year. Therefore, BIO KOREA 2026 is less an “event news” and more a “condensed overview of this week's K-Bio trends.”
